Special Education Teacher | Groveport, Ohio

Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting 5th-8th grade students as a Special Education Teacher for the upcoming academic year. This contract position runs from August 19, 2026, through May 21, 2027, partnering with a collaborative team committed to inclusive education. You’ll work directly with a caseload of 15 students with mild to moderate needs, tailoring instruction and intervention strategies to foster their academic and personal growth.

Qualifications:
– Valid Special Education Teaching certification (appropriate to state requirements)
– Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or related field
– Experience teaching 5th-8th grade preferred
– Knowledge of IEP development and progress monitoring
– Strong classroom management and communication skills
– Commitment to supporting diverse learning needs

Primary Responsibilities:
– Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for each student on your caseload
– Adapt and deliver instructional materials for a variety of learning abilities
– Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff
– Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and goals
– Monitor and document student growth; adjust strategies based on assessment data
– Participate in IEP meetings, staff development, and ongoing professional growth opportunities
