Staff Accountant - (Benefits and Payroll)

As we continue to grow, we're looking for a Corporate Staff Accountant who is excited to make an impact in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.In this role, you'll be a key member of our Finance & Accounting team, leading company-wide payroll and benefits administration while supporting month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and process improvements.What You'll DoPayroll & BenefitsOwn the full-cycle payroll process for corporate and multi-location cafe employees.Review and validate employee timecards, resolve payroll discrepancies, and ensure accurate payroll processing.Administer employee benefits, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), FSA/HSA, and leave-related deductions.Coordinate open enrollment, qualifying life events, and benefits changes.Ensure compliance with California payroll laws, payroll tax requirements, and employee recordkeeping.Support payroll tax filings and maintain accurate payroll records. Accounting & Financial OperationsPrepare journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and month-end close activities.Reconcile bank accounts, payroll liabilities, and corporate credit cards.Support financial reporting, variance analysis, and audit preparation.Maintain accurate records across multiple legal entities using Sage Intacct.Help identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and strengthen internal controls. What We're Looking For - Required Qualifications2+ years of accounting and payroll experience, preferably supporting multiple locations.Experience processing California payroll and understanding California wage and hour requirements.Knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles.Experience with accounting and payroll systems such as Sage Intacct, Paylocity, or similar ERP/payroll platforms a Huge Plus!!Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, etc.).Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Experience in the restaurant, retail, hospitality, or food & beverage industry.Experience administering employee benefits and supporting multi-entity accounting environments. Why Join 7 Leaves?At 7 Leaves, you'll join a collaborative team where your work directly supports the continued growth of one of Southern California's fastest-growing specialty beverage brands.We offer:Employee Discount at our 7 Leaves StoresCompetitive compensationComprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits401(k) retirement planPaid time off and company holidaysCareer growth and professional development opportunitiesA collaborative, team-oriented culture where your ideas are valuedThe opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a growing organizationSystems You'll Use (Proficiency a Huge Plus) Sage IntacctPaylocity7ShiftsMicrosoft ExcelGoogle WorkspaceSlack Ready to Grow With Us?If you're looking for an opportunity where you can expand your accounting expertise, contribute to a growing organization, and work alongside a passionate team, we'd love to hear from you.
