As a Registered Nurse Operating Room Circulator you will assist in the organization and daily function of the operating room in accordance with established federal, state and accreditation standards and facility policies and procedures. Our Registered Nurses assist in overseeing patient care activities in the operating room and maintain a high standard of safety for the patient and other staff members. This is a Monday-Thursday position. Start time is 0645 till the end of the surgery dayWhat you will be doingAssess patient/significant others understanding of disease process and need for surgical interventionPerform perioperative teaching to patient/significant otherDemonstrate appropriate nursing management and intervention in the perioperative periodPerform preoperative patient assessment, review surgeon preference card, assess equipment/supply needs, prepare operating room, ensure availability of needed supplies and equipment and proper and safe working orderProvide appropriate patient care across the age spanProvide safe medication administrationManipulate patient position appropriate to surgical intervention, using positioning aids as needed to avoid impaired circulation, respiration and postoperative pain/discomfortPerform surgical prep per standard of care and surgeon preferenceDemonstrate appropriate protocol for safe use and handling of equipmentAssure all equipment is functioning before use and remove any malfunctioning equipmentAnticipate the need for equipment and supplies based on surgeon preferenceHandle and document specimens per policyAssure emergency equipment and supplies are available at all timesKeep surgical suites clean, tidy, free of soiled equipment and supplies, and properly stockedParticipate in medical records QAPIDemonstrate a willingness to look at new ideas and work in a changing environmentUnderstand, verbalize and participate in the quality improvement processMaintain active professional relationships with physicians and patients by assessing needs and levels of satisfaction with facility servicesWhat you knowRequiredActive RN licenseBLS and ALS certifiedTwo (2) years of experience as an operating room (OR) nurseDesiredIV SkillsWhat you will receiveCompetitive wagesRobust benefit package including medical, dental, life and disability (short- and long-term) insuranceGenerous paid time off (PTO) programSeven (7) company paid holidays401(k) retirement plan with company matchUniform reimbursementAn organization focused on People, Passion, Purpose and ProgressInspirational cultureAbout Midwest Vision PartnersMidwest Vision Partners was founded in 2019 to build a premier eye care platform in partnership with Alpine Investors, a San Francisco-based private equity firm.
