Swim Lesson Instructor

POSITION SUMMARY:The Y is a leading nonprofit for strengthening community, and the nation's larger provider of swim lessons to increase skill and safety in and around water. This position provides direct leadership, instruction and motivation for students in swimming classes.GENERAL FUNCTIONS:Under the direction of the Aquatics Director or Coordinator, provide direct leadership, instruction and motivation for students in swimming classes. Recommended Certifications: CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, and Basic First Aid certification.Must be able to demonstrate swim instructor skills in accordance with YMCA standards.At least 15 years of age.Requirements within 30 days of hire include completion of: Child Abuse PreventionPHYSICAL DEMANDSAbility to instruct and observe participants in proper stroke techniques.Ability to lift equipment, and to lift a small to average size child.EFFECT ON END RESULTSThe YMCA will be recognized by the community as providing excellent service to all who walk through our doors or contact us by phone.The YMCA will effectively connect and build relationships with its members and the community, resulting in increased member enrollment and retention.Consistent superior member service and satisfaction will result in continued growth in membership, programs and special services.
