Wound Care Nurse Practitioner

Vivo HealthStaff is recruiting for a Nurse Practitioner in New York. This is a permanent position with salary and benefits.We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner to support both inpatient and outpatient wound and ostomy care. This full-time opportunity is ideal for an NP with a strong interest in colorectal, urology, and post-surgical care management. The position focuses on patient education, pre-surgical site marking, and long-term follow-up support for ostomy patients.Position Summary:The Nurse Practitioner will work Monday through Friday during daytime hours, with no weekends and no call. The role includes both inpatient rounds and outpatient visits. The NP will collaborate closely with colorectal and urology surgeons to support patient preparation, education, and recovery for ostomy-related procedures.Key Responsibilities:Conduct comprehensive assessments of ostomy patients, including wound status, skin integrity, and general healthDevelop individualized care plans based on patient needs and wound healing goalsProvide pre-surgical education to patients and families about ostomies, expectations, lifestyle adaptations, and post-op carePerform site markings for ostomy surgeriesDeliver patient and caregiver training on proper ostomy care and skin maintenanceUtilize evidence-based practices to prevent infection and improve wound healing outcomesCoordinate care with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teamsMaintain detailed and compliant documentation of all care activitiesSchedule:Full-time: Monday - FridayNo weekendsNo callQualifications:Board Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP)Active or eligible New York NP licenseWound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing (WOCN) Certification - RequiredDEA license or eligibilityAt least 1 year of NP experience in wound or ostomy care preferred (2025 NP graduates may be considered)Strong communication skills and a passion for working with medically complex and vulnerable patient populationsMust live outside a 30-mile radius from the facility locationCompensation & Benefits:Competitive salary range: $114,430-$123,584 (excluding bonuses and incentives)Relocation assistance (reimbursement-based; amount varies by distance)Health, dental, and vision insurancePaid malpractice coverage, including post-employment tailCME time and expense allowancePaid time off403(b) retirement savings program with employer matchAdditional Notes:Not accepting locum candidatesAbout Vivo HealthStaff:Vivo HealthStaff is a healthcare staffing and consulting firm specializing in clinical staffing, program development, and workforce solutions for healthcare organizations across the United States.
