Our values drive our dedication to providing a world class education.Position: Math Interventionist (1 ES, 1 MS, 1 HS)Position type: Full Time Position location (School): First Philadelphia Preparatory Charter SchoolDepartment: Teacher Employment status: Exempt Employment duration: 10 months Position Summary: The Math Intervention will provide one‐on‐one and small group support for students performing below and far below grade level.Major ResponsibilitiesAssesses students frequently, examines student assessment data, and refines intervention activities to address individual student needs Develops and implements lesson plans and classroom activities consistent with Pennsylvania Common Core Standards and First Philadelphia instructional guidelinesOrganizes systems/procedures and manages student behavior to ensure all students are fully engaged in learning Establishes a culture of high expectations that includes college preparation for all students Collaborates with First Philadelphia team members to improve own and others' instructional practices especially in literacy development; shares best practices Works closely with classroom teachers and education specialists to identify unique student needs; collaborates with team members and outside service providers to diagnose and address learning challengesKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesIn-depth knowledge of Math development and interventionsKnowledge of child and youth cognitive development and different learning stylesKnowledge of Pennsylvania Common Core StandardsKnowledge of assessmentsAbility and willingness to implement First Philadelphia's Instructional Guidelines and Best PracticesAbility to analyze qualitative and quantitative student dataAbility and willingness to reflect and improveAbility to collaborate with colleagues, parents and communityAbility to work effectively with elementary students Education and certificationsBachelor's degree (required)Master's degree (preferred)PA Teacher Certification (Math)Physical RequirementsSittingWalking Standing Talking Pushing Driving Lifting 20-25 Lbs.Moving Up and Down from a seated positionRestrainingWalking up and down stairsAmerican Paradigm Schools are Caring School Communities.Relationships are the foundation of classroom and school life and underpin teaching, learning, and prosocial development.
