This role is ideal for someone with early to mid-level estimating experience who is eager to build their career while working alongside experienced professionals. You will support the estimating team in preparing accurate bids, analyzing project requirements, and coordinating with vendors and internal teams. Depending on your experience level, you'll have the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility and ownership of estimates.Assist with preparing project estimates, proposals, and bid packagesReview and interpret project plans, specifications, and scope requirementsPerform quantity take-offs and assist with developing unit pricingSupport the development of conceptual budgets and cost estimatesCommunicate with general contractors, vendors, and subcontractors to gather pricingTrack and organize bid documentation and correspondenceHelp identify scope gaps, inconsistencies, or potential risks in project documentsParticipate in bid-day activities, including reviewing incoming quotesSupport Request for Information (RFI) processes when neededAssist project teams with buyouts, purchasing, and change ordersAttend estimating meetings, job walks, and pre-bid meetings as assignedContribute to continuous improvement and learning within the estimating team About YOU:As a part of the F.D. Our company passion and purpose are to leave things better than we found them.In addition to your passion and purpose, to be successful in this Estimator role, you will possess the following:Requirements and Education:2+ years of experience in construction estimating or a related fieldBasic understanding of construction documents and estimating principlesStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)Good communication and teamwork skillsValid driver's license and reliable transportationPreferred Requirements and Education:Experience with commercial or industrial construction projectsFamiliarity with coatings, painting, or specialty contracting industriesExperience with estimating software (e.g., Viewpoint, Constructware, or similar)Degree or coursework in construction management, engineering, or related field We thank you for your time in learning a little about us here at F.D.
