About the Position

LocumJobsOnline is working with Wellhart, LLC to find a qualified Family Practice NP in Appleton, Minnesota, 56208!

We are seeking a dedicated Family Practice Nurse Practitioner for an engaging 60-day assignment in Minnesota, commencing Nov 2, 2026. This vital role will involve providing comprehensive nursing care, performing examinations, administering treatments, interpreting diagnostic tests, and formulating detailed patient care plans, ensuring continuous and high-quality healthcare for patients within the facility, including on-call duties.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care, including executing physician orders, dispensing and administering medications, and performing examinations and treatments.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient clinical problems and healthcare needs.
  • Record physical findings, formulate prognoses, and collaborate with physicians and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive patient care plans.
  • Recommend drugs and other forms of treatment within the scope of licensure.
  • Monitor inpatient hospitalizations and ensure early release when appropriate.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of equipment and the work area.
  • Assist with monitoring the provision of all required contractual services.
  • Cultivate and maintain positive working relationships with facility staff, nursing staff, contract providers, and outside agencies.
  • Utilize established corporate, facility, and correctional policies and procedures, while exercising sound independent judgment.
  • Regularly evaluate the provision of medical services to prevent inappropriate use or duplication.
  • Maintain absolute security and confidentiality of all medical records, ensuring all provided services are documented.
  • Closely monitor all potential catastrophic illnesses.
  • Recommend methods for improving operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness of health-related services.
  • Audit pharmacy use for adherence to formulary, as directed or required, and comply with all applicable pharmacy laws, especially those covering controlled substances.
  • Observe and record patient behavior.
  • Accept on-call status.
  • Provide health counseling and education on an individual or group basis.
  • Interpret medical and technical procedures, governmental regulations, and legal documents.
  • Review, process, and respond to lawsuits; attend court hearings when necessary; conduct chart research; and review patient status for complete intervention and treatment.
  • Communicate effectively with administration, staff, patients, visitors, and the general public, particularly in sensitive situations.
  • Attend scheduled staff meetings and participate in multi-disciplinary committee meetings to promote and monitor quality of healthcare services.
  • Engage in functions in confined areas, working rotating shifts, and verifying security measures.
  • Evaluate and recommend physical safety requirements for a safe working environment.
  • Provide advanced nursing services and patient care in the facility’s medical program to inmates/residents under the supervision of the facility physician.


Additional Information
