Machinist I - Now Hiring

Job Summary:

Basic operation and inspection of various types of conventional or automatic machines used to produce
precision parts and instruments.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ability to follow safety and standard operating procedures
• Machines parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers or grinders.
• Measures, examines, and tests completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications.

Qualifications:

• Performs work under direct supervision.
• Handles basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
• Possesses beginning to working knowledge of subject matter.
• Mathematical skills.
• Technical expertise.
• Manual dexterity.
• Physical Stamina. Ability to stand for long periods of time.

Education Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Basic communication and math skills

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and perform repetitive movements.
• Ability to lift and move materials and parts up to 40 pounds.
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to operate machinery and measuring tools.
• Ability to visually inspect parts and read measurements and specifications.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment around machinery, noise, oils, and coolants.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Salary Range:

• $18.75 - $25.00/hour based on experience
