Employment Development Specialist
TITLE: Employment Development Specialist

ROLE SUMMARY:
The Employment Development Specialist provides individualized, student-centered employment support to help learners achieve long-term career success. This includes assessing students’ needs, setting SMART goals, developing employment materials such as resumes, cover letters, LinkedIn profiles, and interview skills, and leading job readiness and soft skills workshops tailored to diverse learners. The role supports the full employment process from preparation and referrals to job placement, follow-up, retention, and alumni career support. The Specialist works closely with internal teams and external partners, including instructors, retention staff, and job developers, to ensure coordinated support for students, while maintaining accurate records, employment data, and compliance documentation in the Student Information System. The position also assists with departmental events and provides support for other organizational needs as required.
