About this job
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Install, inspect, test, and repair pre-engineered systems per NFPA and manufacturer specifications.
Replace/charge agents, service cylinders/cartridges, and verify detection and actuation.
Identify deficiencies and perform corrective actions; ensure AHJ compliance.
Read and apply manufacturer manuals and service bulletins.
Complete accurate inspection reports, deficiency lists, and close-out documentation.
Communicate system condition and recommendations to customers.
Maintain tools, equipment, and service vehicles.
Maintain a clean and safe workspace; follow all safety procedures.
Respond to emergency service calls.
Use of hand tools and testing equipment.
Travel to job sites as required.
Other duties as assigned by management.
Education/Qualification:
High school diploma or equivalent.
3+ years of experience in fire and life safety industry as an apprentice or technician.
NICET Level I or above preferred.
Working knowledge of NFPA 17/17A/96 and manufacturer requirements.
Must have a clean driving record and active driver’s license, if driving role.
Strong understanding of pre-engineered systems, practices and applicable codes.
Demonstrated ability to work independently.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in various environments.
Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
Work performed in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.
Exposure to varying conditions including heights, confined spaces, and active job sites.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work for extended periods.
