Assistant Editor III (Event Asset Management)
Location: Cupertino, CA (Onsite)
Duration: 3-Week Contract
Employment Type: Full-Time Contract (W2)
Pay rate: $70/hr. - $74/hr. on W2

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Editor III to support a high-profile live event production team. This role is focused on media asset management, technical quality control, transcoding, packaging, and delivery of event-related content across multiple platforms.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in post-production workflows, media operations, and asset management, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities
Asset Management & File Operations

  • Receive, organize, track, and maintain large volumes of media assets.
  • Manage file naming conventions, version control, and delivery logs.
  • Validate file integrity and technical specifications of incoming and outgoing deliverables.
  • Transfer files between servers and storage systems while ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Monitor and document asset movement throughout the workflow.

Transcoding & Media Processing
  • Perform video transcoding, encoding, and packaging for various distribution platforms.
  • Prepare and modify media assets for VOD and platform-specific delivery requirements.
  • Support media processing workflows using industry-standard tools and applications.
  • Package and distribute deliverables according to workflow specifications.

Quality Control (QC)
  • Verify video, audio, subtitle, and caption files for compliance with technical specifications.
  • Conduct detailed QC reviews throughout each stage of the workflow.
  • Troubleshoot file, format, and compatibility issues.
  • Ensure deliverables meet platform and operational standards.

Live Event Support
  • Monitor assigned signal paths and media workflows during live event operations.
  • Perform real-time technical and asset quality control on live streams.
  • Maintain incident logs and workflow documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with production, operations, and engineering teams.

Post-Event Activities
  • Archive event recordings and deliverables to designated storage locations.
  • Support redelivery requests and content replacements as needed.
  • Prepare and submit post-event technical reports and workflow documentation.
  • Participate in debrief sessions and provide recommendations for process improvements.

Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in media asset management, post-production, broadcast operations, or related environments.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Final Cut Pro (FCP)
    • Apple Compressor
    • FFWorks
    • DaVinci Resolve
  • Experience with video transcoding, encoding, and delivery workflows.
  • Knowledge of broadcast video standards, codecs, and file formats.
  • Experience managing high volumes of digital media assets.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Full availability to work onsite in Cupertino, CA throughout the engagement.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting live event productions or live streaming operations.
  • Familiarity with VOD workflows and platform-specific content delivery requirements.
  • Knowledge of subtitle, caption, and multilingual media workflows.
  • Experience with media archiving and digital asset management systems.
  • Background in broadcast, media operations, or post-production environments.
  • Experience maintaining workflow documentation, incident tracking, and reporting.
