CNC Machine Operator

Job Title: Manual Machinist

Pay Rate: $25-27/hr on W2 (Including all the benefits)

Shift: M-F / 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM OR 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

Summary:

Set-up and operate manual machines within established standards, in regards to time to cut, shape, or form metal workpieces.

Key Responsibilities:

• Reviews specifications to determine setup procedure, machining sequence, and dimensions of finished workpiece.
• Performs necessary adjustments, attachments and assemblies according to setup instructions.
• Assembles cutting tools in toolholders and positions toolholders in machine spindles as specified or inserts cutting tools in specified machine magazines.
• Observes and listens to machine operation to detect malfunctions such as worn or damaged cutting tools.
• Measures workpiece for conformance to specifications and notifies quality control of discrepancies.
• Adjusts machine feed and speed and changes cutters to machine parts according to specifications when automatic programming is faulty or machine malfunctions.
• Machines materials other than metal such as composites, plastic, and rubber.
• May be needed to assist in training of new or temporary employees.

Requirements for Consideration:

• Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school;  two year related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must be proficient in English, both written and verbal
• Must possess basic math skills, understanding of geometry and basic algebra.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
