Pharmacist In Charge (PIC)

A leading pharmacy provider to the long-term care community is currently seeking a PHARMACIST IN CHARGE.

As a Pharmacist In-Charge you will be responsible for the overall operation of the pharmacy, along with preparing and administering appropriate pharmaceuticals to patients. The Pharmacist In Charge will work to develop and implement strategies to ensure & improve the operation of the pharmacy. The PIC will also be responsible to ensure the pharmacy is in compliance with all local, state, and federal accrediting rules and regulations regarding the pharmacy.

The job entails a high level of responsibility and knowledge.

Responsibilities

1. Implement Quality Assurance programs
2. Implement Policies & Procedures
3. Review and execute physician’s prescriptions checking their appropriateness and legality
4. Maintain full control over delivering, stocking and labeling medicine and other products and monitor their condition to prevent expiring or deterioration
5. Prepare medicine when appropriate using correct dosages and material for each individual patient
6. Comply with all applicable legal rules, regulations and procedures

Skills

1. Proven experience as a Pharmacist In Charge
2. Thorough understanding of dosage administration and measurement, chemical compounds, medical brands etc.
3. Outstanding knowledge of MS Office and Frameworks
4. Good organizing skills
5. Excellent communication skills with a customer oriented approach
6. Integrity and compassion
7. Degree in Pharmacy/Pharmacology
