Manufacturing Area Lead
We are seeking a self-directed, results-oriented Area Supervisor for our 2nd shift manufacturing team. The ideal candidate is disciplined, detail-oriented, and a strong problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced production environment. In this role you will oversee production scheduling, inventory management, personnel training, hiring, quality activities, and safety compliance while driving continuous improvement across the department.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead and coordinate daily activities of manufacturing team members to safely and efficiently build and ship quality products.
- Manage production and inventory scheduling to meet customer shipment dates.
- Interview, hire, train, and develop team members; foster a positive, high-performance culture.
- Support quality procedures including inspection documentation, engineering deviations, and ISO program training.
- Collaborate with engineering, sales, and other departments to resolve product and quality issues.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety rules and regulations; conduct monthly department safety inspections.
- Create and maintain written procedures and work instructions.
- Drive continuous improvement through 5S, Lean practices, and process enhancements.
- Act as a working supervisor when needed and resolve day-to-day production challenges.
- Coordinate manpower, overtime, and cross-training to maintain workforce flexibility and meet demand.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven supervision experience in a manufacturing environment (required).
- Experience working in an ISO-certified quality system.
- Strong knowledge of production and inventory scheduling.
- Ability to create clear written procedures and instructions.
- Experience resolving customer product and quality issues.
- Safety compliance background; OSHA 10 or 30 certification a plus.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook).
- SAP experience preferred.
- Associate’s degree in Industrial Technology preferred but not required.
- Candidates with hands-on manufacturing experience will be given priority.
2nd shift schedule: Monday–Thursday, 1:30 pm – 12:00 am
