Recruiter/ Production Lead

Job Summary
Focus Workforce Management is hiring a Production Lead/Recruiter to support our fresh, human-grade pet food distribution client in Jacksonville. This hybrid role combines hands-on warehouse production work with recruiting and new-hire training responsibilities — ideal for someone who wants to stay connected to the production floor while helping build and train the workforce that runs it.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Recruiting & Training

• Design and implement effective recruiting and interviewing strategies for warehouse roles
• Onboard new employees, ensuring compliance with screening and company policy requirements
• Train new hires on proper warehouse procedures, safety protocols, and production expectations
• Act as a point of contact for client needs related to staffing and workforce performance
• Support HR-related duties (attendance tracking, incident documentation, etc.)

Production/Warehouse

• Accurately pack items from carts based on order sheets; inspect products for defects or damage before packing
• Measure, weigh, and pack items securely using appropriate boxes, padding, and sealing materials
• Safely operate packing equipment (air pillows, tape guns, box insulation)
• Accurately pick items from freezer storage (below-zero temperatures)
• Accurately label packages with shipping destinations, barcodes, and product information
• Ensure correct items and quantities ship to the right customer
• Maintain a clean, organized, hazard-free work area
• Meet hourly KPIs and daily production/shipping quotas after training period

Qualifications & Skills

• Previous warehouse or production experience desired; recruiting/staffing experience a plus
• Ability to walk, bend, reach, lift heavy objects, and stand for up to 8-hour shifts
• Ability to work in freezer conditions (below zero degrees)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for both team training and client relations
• Basic math skills for order accuracy
• Familiarity with scanning equipment and warehouse inventory software
• Strong computer skills, including spreadsheets and text documents
• Ability to multitask and maintain poise in a fast-paced environment
• Strong sense of urgency and commitment to punctual, reliable attendance (Monday–Friday)
• Positive, can-do attitude with respect for coworkers and willingness to take on assigned tasks
