Job Title: Accounts Payable Clerk
Location: Chicago, IL (Rosemont Area)
Pay Range: $25–$27/HR (Based on experience & qualifications)
Benefits: Health, dental, and vision insurance. 401(k)
Role Overview:
Brilliant Financial Staffing has been engaged in a search for an Accounts Payable Clerk with our client located in Chicago, IL. Our client is a well-established organization with a busy Accounts Payable department that is currently seeking additional support while an employee is on medical leave. This is a 3-4 month contract opportunity with an immediate need.
The Accounts Payable Clerk will primarily handle check processing, invoice review, and remittance review while supporting the AP team during a particularly busy period. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of AP experience, strong attention to detail, PO experience, and the ability to quickly learn new systems and processes.
Accounts Payable Clerk Responsibilities:
- Perform monthly vendor statement reconciliations and research outstanding balances or discrepancies
- Collect, review, and maintain vendor W-9 forms
- Ensure vendor records are complete and up to date
- Process a high volume of incoming vendor checks, approximately 200-400 checks per week
- Review invoices prior to payment for accuracy, approvals, pricing, quantities, and supporting documentation
- Identify discrepancies, unusual charges, duplicate invoices, and other issues requiring investigation
- Review remittance information to ensure payments are applied correctly
- Update vendor records accurately
- Communicate with vendors and internal departments to resolve payment, invoice, and account discrepancies
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of recent Accounts Payable experience
- Purchase Order experience required
- Experience working with a larger ERP system
- Strong attention to detail is a must
- Ability to quickly learn new systems and processes
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Basic Microsoft Excel skills, including filtering
