Description
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with 2+ years of experience to provide inpatient and outpatient care in a rural Hawaii hospital setting.
Details
- 13-week assignment with a Monday-Friday schedule, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM, including a 12-1 PM lunch break
- Must be able to work Saturdays with no exceptions
- Work schedule may require flexibility in hours
- Inpatient caseload (25%) includes acute care, ICU, and SNF settings
- Outpatient caseload (75%) is provided in a hospital-based outpatient PT clinic
- May also work in ER, Med/Surg (acute, observation, and SNF), and occasionally OB
- Typical daily caseload is 5-15 patients, with appointments scheduled every 30-45 minutes and new evaluations at one hour
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of physical therapy experience required
- Current BLS certification required
- Active state PT license required; Hawaii license required if applicable
- Must demonstrate independence and thorough care approaches across all outpatient diagnoses
- Knowledge of acute to SNF inpatient mobility progression and discharge planning required
Additional Information
- Primary responsibilities include performing PT evaluations and treatments across a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings
- Role requires strong clinical independence given the rural hospital setting
- 12 hours of orientation is provided, covering HR orientation, safety, risk & quality management, IT training, and EMR training
- Orientation is structured over two days, with the first day beginning at 10 AM
