Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab Technologist with 2+ years of cath lab experience for a Level 1 trauma acute care facility.

Details

  • >Level 1 trauma acute care hospital setting
  • Cardiac Cath Lab unit, separate from IR and EP departments
  • 6 procedure suites/labs with an average of 10 to 15 cases per day
  • 9-hour day shifts with rotating weekends and holidays
  • Weekly, rotational on-call requirements averaging 8-9 shifts per month
  • Call response time of 30 minutes from time of page
  • Primary charge nurse covers 0600-1530 and takes call but does not routinely perform cases
  • Cardiologists are on call 24/7, 365 days a year
  • Techs are not currently required to float
  • Uses EPIC EMR along with PACS and McKesson cardiology systems

Requirements

  • >Minimum of 2 years of cath lab experience required
  • Current ARRT and BLS certification required
  • IEMA certification required
  • Active IL license required (license required if applicable)
  • Previous cath lab experience required
  • Pediatric experience preferred but not required
  • McKesson cardiology PACS experience preferred but not required
  • Must be able to pass a negative drug screen for all panels per facility Drug-Free Campus policy

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include scrubbing, monitoring hemodynamics, and circulating during cardiac catheterization procedures
  • Unit orientation typically lasts 3 to 5 days
  • Scrubs are provided by the hospital
  • Holiday coverage is required on a rotational basis
  • A mandatory call list is used when staff cannot fulfill their scheduled call shift
  • COVID-19 vaccination is not required for this facility
  • Local candidates are accepted, with local rate adjustments applying to those with a permanent address within 50 miles of the facility
