Maintenance helper/Assistant Mechanic (Tortilla Manufacture)

Essential Job Duties

· Assist the Senior Mechanic with daily maintenance and repair activities.

· Lubricate chains, bearings, gears, rollers, and other moving components.

· Assist with removing and replacing worn or damaged bearings.

· Patch, repair, and maintain Teflon conveyor belts.

· Assist with repairs and maintenance of tortilla production and packaging equipment.

· Help replace belts, chains, sprockets, bearings, rollers, and other mechanical components.

· Assist with equipment adjustments, alignments, and preventive maintenance.

· Help troubleshoot mechanical issues under the direction of the Senior Mechanic.

· Gather and prepare tools, parts, and materials needed for maintenance work.

· Keep tools, equipment, and maintenance areas clean and organized.

· Assist with routine inspections of production equipment and report any problems or unusual conditions to the Senior Mechanic.

· Help respond to equipment breakdowns and maintenance needs.

· Follow instructions, maintenance procedures, and safety requirements.

· Follow all food safety, sanitation, GMP, PPE, and OSHA requirements.

· Follow proper lockout/tagout procedures when required.

· Maintain a clean and safe work area.

· Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Mechanic or Maintenance Supervisor.

Qualifications

-Must be E-Verify

· Previous maintenance, mechanical, manufacturing, or construction experience preferred but not required.

· Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.

· Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.

· Ability to follow instructions and work safely around production machinery.

· Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic.

· Ability to work well with the Senior Mechanic and production team.

· Previous food manufacturing experience is a plus.
