Facial Spectrum is seeking a skilled, reliable, and compassionate Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) Surgical Assistant to join our growing practice. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment, and is committed to providing exceptional patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the oral surgeon during surgical procedures, including extractions, implant placement, biopsies, and other OMFS treatments
  • Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and surgical equipment
  • Sterilize and maintain instruments in compliance with OSHA and infection control standards
  • Monitor and support patient comfort and safety throughout treatment
  • Take and process dental radiographs and CBCT scans as needed
  • Provide pre-op and post-op instructions to patients
  • Review medical histories and update patient records accurately
  • Support sedation and anesthesia workflows in accordance with office protocols and legal requirements
  • Manage inventory and order clinical supplies as needed

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a dental assistant or oral surgery assistant preferred
  • Knowledge of surgical assisting, sterilization, and patient care protocols
  • X-ray certification required if applicable by state law
  • CPR/BLS certification required (we can train you)
  • DAANCE certification preferred, but not required
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in a surgical setting
