Job Title: Material Handler
Job Description
The Material Handler II safely operates forklifts and high‑reach trucks to move, load, and unload materials throughout the facility, supporting production, inventory, and shipping activities. This role uses RF scanners and tracking systems to maintain accurate inventory records, prepares completed equipment and parts for shipment, and ensures all materials meet quality standards and conform to required specifications.
Responsibilities
- Operate sit-down forklifts, stand-up forklifts, pallet jacks, and high-reach trucks to move materials for loading trailers and flatbeds, supplying the production area, and transferring items into and out of inventory storage locations.
- Utilize RF scanners and tracking systems to accurately pick, scan, and record materials, ensuring proper inventory control and traceability.
- Work from manufacturing information, material lists, requisitions, and written and oral instructions to complete material handling tasks in support of production and shipping schedules.
- Prepare completed equipment, accessories, and service parts for shipment, ensuring parts are properly loaded, secured, and staged for outgoing deliveries.
- Load, unload, and move materials as required between shipping, receiving, production, and storage areas.
- Check the quality of materials and workmanship, verifying conformance to established standards and reporting any discrepancies or defects.
- Take responsibility for the quality of finished work, ensuring all materials handled are accurate, damage-free, and correctly documented.
- Maintain required records and documents related to material movement, inventory transactions, and shipping and receiving activities.
- Follow established safety procedures and guidelines while operating material handling equipment and working in manufacturing and warehouse areas.
- Collaborate with production, inventory, and shipping teams to prioritize tasks and support efficient workflow across the facility.
Essential Skills
- Experience operating forklifts or high-reach trucks in a manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution environment; experience with both types of equipment is preferred.
- Ability to safely lift and move items weighing 50 pounds or more on a regular basis.
- Experience using RF scanners or similar handheld equipment for inventory tracking, picking, and shipping and receiving.
- Proficiency in basic material handling tasks, including picking, loading, unloading, and staging materials.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions, material lists, and requisitions accurately.
- Attention to detail and ability to verify material quality and conformance to standards.
- Capability to maintain accurate records and documentation related to inventory and material movement.
- Commitment to safe equipment operation and adherence to safety procedures in a manufacturing environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in shipping and receiving operations..
- Comfort operating stand-up and sit-down forklifts, pallet jacks, and high-reach trucks.
- Ability to work effectively on both first and second shifts as needed.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with production and logistics personnel.

Work Environment
The role is based in a semi-climate controlled manufacturing facility that is fairly clean with moderate noise levels. Material handlers work around production, inventory, and shipping areas, using forklifts, high-reach trucks, pallet jacks, and RF scanners as part of daily operations. Safety glasses, steel-toed boots, and hearing protection are required as part of the dress code and safety standards. Available schedules include a first shift from Monday to Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
