What You'll Do
As a key member of our litigation team, you will:
- Manage a portfolio of plaintiff personal injury and insurance defense matters through all phases of litigation.
- Evaluate liability, damages, coverage issues, and litigation risk to develop effective case strategies.
- Conduct client consultations, investigations, and case assessments.
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, settlement agreements, and other substantive legal documents.
- Take and defend depositions and prepare fact witnesses, expert witnesses, and clients for testimony.
- Lead negotiations with opposing counsel and insurance carriers to secure favorable resolutions.
- Prepare and present cases at mediations, arbitrations, hearings, and trials.
- Collaborate with medical experts, vocational specialists, economists, investigators, and accident reconstruction experts to build compelling cases.
- Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda addressing liability, damages, insurance coverage, and procedural issues.
- Mentor junior attorneys, paralegals, and support staff while promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork.
- Maintain high standards of client service through proactive communication and strategic guidance.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active bar admission and good standing in the applicable jurisdiction.
- 3+ years of civil litigation experience.
- Strong knowledge of personal injury litigation, tort law, insurance coverage principles, and civil procedure.
- Experience drafting motions, briefs, pleadings, and discovery materials.
- Excellent legal writing, analytical, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
- Ability to independently manage multiple matters while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience handling both plaintiff personal injury matters and insurance defense claims.
- Significant deposition, mediation, arbitration, or courtroom experience.
- Proven success negotiating favorable settlements and litigating cases through trial.
- Experience working with medical experts, accident reconstructionists, economists, and other technical experts.
- Familiarity with state and federal court procedures.
- Prior mentorship or leadership experience.
