About the Position

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Bilingual Special Education Teacher to provide specialized instruction and support for students with disabilities in a diverse K–12 school setting. The ideal candidate will deliver culturally responsive instruction, collaborate with educational teams and families, and support students’ academic, behavioral, communication, and developmental goals while honoring their linguistic and cultural backgrounds.

Job Duties

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) based on student needs, goals, accommodations, and modifications
  • Provide specialized instruction in both English and the student’s native language, as appropriate
  • Support bilingual and multilingual students with disabilities through culturally responsive teaching practices
  • Adapt curriculum, instructional materials, and assessments to meet diverse learning needs
  • Implement evidence-based instructional strategies and positive behavioral supports
  • Monitor and document student academic, behavioral, and developmental progress
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, bilingual staff, paraprofessionals, related service providers, administrators, and families
  • Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and multidisciplinary team discussions
  • Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress and educational planning
  • Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal special education requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field from an accredited institution
  • Valid Colorado teaching license through the Colorado Department of Education (CDE)
  • Appropriate Colorado Special Education endorsement/authorization for the assigned student population and disability area
  • Bilingual or multilingual proficiency required based on district needs (Spanish proficiency preferred for many Colorado districts)
  • Knowledge of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), IEP development, and special education compliance requirements
  • Ability to differentiate instruction and support students with varying academic, linguistic, behavioral, and developmental needs
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
  • Successful completion of required background screening and district onboarding requirements
  • Previous experience supporting bilingual learners and students with disabilities preferred
