Associate Attorney (Retail Trade and Environmental)

About the Opportunity

LHH is partnering with a highly respected California law firm, to identify a Contract Attorney to support its growing Retail Trade and Environmental practice groups. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney seeking sophisticated regulatory, compliance, and litigation work with a well-established firm known for handling complex California legal matters.

The firm is open to candidates with experience in either Retail Trade/Consumer Protection or Environmental Law and is willing to provide exposure and training in the complementary practice area.

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research and analysis of regulatory and litigation matters.
• Support attorneys on consumer protection, regulatory compliance, and environmental law matters.
  • Retail Trade / Consumer Protection
    • Proposition 65 defense
    • California Legal Remedies Act (CLRA) matters
    • Unfair Competition Law (UCL) claims
    • False Advertising claims
    • Consumer product compliance counseling
    • Regulatory and risk management matters
  • Environmental
    • Property contamination litigation
    • Clean Water Act citizen suits
    • Environmental compliance and counseling
    • Environmental regulatory research and analysis
    • Environmental litigation support
• Draft memoranda, motions, pleadings, discovery, and client communications.
• Assist with case strategy, risk assessments, and regulatory compliance counseling.

Qualifications

• Active California Bar membership in good standing.
• Approximately 2-8+ years of relevant legal experience.
• Experience in either Retail Trade/Consumer Protection or Environmental Law.
• Prior law firm experience preferred.
