This role supports a high-volume production manufacturing environment focused on plastic extrusion and related operations. You will monitor and support the production of plastic parts, accurately track order information, and perform routine quality checks to ensure products meet specifications. The position involves operating around machinery, organizing and palletizing parts, and using measuring tools to maintain precise dimensions. This is a hands-on role that requires consistent attention to detail, safe work practices, and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks throughout the shift.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and oversee the production of plastic parts in a manufacturing setting, ensuring consistent output and adherence to production schedules.
  • Legibly write and record order information, including part details, counts, and other required production data.
  • Pull part tickets as needed to support current and recently completed production runs, ensuring correct parts and orders are processed.
  • Watch machinery during operation to identify issues, maintain smooth production flow, and report concerns promptly.
  • Keep parts organized throughout the production process, including sorting, staging, and preparing items for the next step.
  • Stack and palletize parts safely and efficiently to prepare finished products for storage or shipment.
  • Use rulers, tape measures, and other measuring tools to verify part dimensions and ensure they meet required specifications.
  • Lift and move materials and parts weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted multiple times per shift.
  • Walk up and down short flights of stairs, including accessing hoppers and other elevated equipment as needed.
  • Perform hourly or as-needed quality checks on parts, documenting findings and addressing any nonconformance.
  • Use hand and power tools as needed for assembly, line production, and general production tasks.
  • Assist with assembly, packaging, and line production activities, including general labor, cleaning, and line setup.
  • Support machine operation and extrusion processes, including basic adjustments and monitoring as appropriate.
  • Participate in inspection, quality control, and general production housekeeping to maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Work independently or as part of a team, staying on task and maintaining productivity throughout the shift.
  • Adapt to placement in extrusion, extrusion operation, or fabrication operation based on production needs.

Essential Skills

  • At least 2+ years of manufacturing (MFG) experience in a production or general production environment.
  • Proficiency in reading and using a tape measure accurately for measuring parts and materials.
  • Ability to pass a math, ruler, and measuring test with a score of 90% or higher.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted multiple times per shift.
  • Ability to perform regular quality checks and maintain consistent quality standards throughout production.
  • Experience using basic measuring tools such as rulers and tape measures in a production setting.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team while staying focused and on task.
  • Comfort working around production lines, assembly lines, and general line production activities.
  • Familiarity with general labor tasks, including cleaning, inspection, and line setup.
  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Willingness and physical ability to walk up and down stairs as part of daily duties.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment, including steel-toe footwear.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous machine operation experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Experience with plastic extrusion, extrusion operation, or injection molding processes.
  • Previous use of micrometers, calipers, gauges, or similar precision measuring tools.
  • Experience in assembly, packaging, and line production work.
  • Experience with hand tools and power tools in a production or warehouse setting.
  • Familiarity with warehouse packing, parts staging, and palletizing processes.
  • Experience performing quality checks, quality control, and inspection in a manufacturing environment.
  • Comfort working with heavy lifting, line assembly, and general production labor.
