  Ready to join our OB family? Advent Health Celebration Labor and Delivery Unit is a premier destination for obstetrical care. AH Celebration is a Magnet Recognized campus for nursing excellence. Just 28 miles south of Orlando, Celebration was designed as a Mediterranean resort-style facility to serve as a cornerstone of health in Disney’s planned community of Celebration, Florida.

  The Labor and Delivery Unit provides Level II Maternity Care for approximately 3,375+ births per year (281+ babies per month). The unit consists of 6 OB Triage rooms, 10 labor rooms, 2 OB ORs and 2 PACU beds. The adjacent units are a 10 bed Level II NICU, a 24 bed Mother Baby Unit and a 13 bed overflow MIU/GYN unit.

  The multidisciplinary OB team is supported 24/7 by on unit OB Hospitalists, Neonatologists/Pediatric Hospitalists and Anesthesiology.

  The OB team has received the AACN BEACON Award for Excellence recognizing top achievement in quality outcomes, patient experience and team engagement.

  AH Celebration is a Baby Friendly designated campus.

  Advent Health for Women is a key part of the Florida Perinatal Quality Collaborative’s PROVIDE initiative (reducing primary c-sections) and MORE (reducing maternal opioids). Our team is able to provide virtual classes and tours with our patients and individualized care with our Birth Experience team.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

\n

\n
• Anticipates the needs of the surgeon and keeps the circulating nurse informed throughout a procedure. 
\n
• Maintains high standards and quality in facilitating cost savings and containment.
\n
• Assembles all necessary supplies, equipment, and medications prior to the procedure.
\n
• Supports customer and employee satisfaction activities; maintains good relationships with physicians, management, other departments, and staff; and responds to complaints in a timely manner.
\n
• Monitors aseptic technique of the entire surgical team and takes immediate corrective action for any breaks in technique.
\n
• Identifies and reports environmental concerns to management and ensures adherence to regulatory standards and policies.
\n

\n

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
\n • Ability to communicate by reading, writing legibly, speaking, and comprehending English effectively in order to carry out job requirements. [Required]
\n • Basic skills related to aseptic/sterile technique and knowledge of surgical instrumentation. [Required]
\n • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the healthcare industry. [Required]
\n • Up-to-date knowledge of surgical instruments and supplies to hand surgeons the correct tools during surgeries. [Required]
\n • Up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements and laws at various jurisdictional levels. [Required]
\n • Ability to understand and process surgeon dictated instructions and directions. [Required]
\n • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office. [Required]
\n • Ability to consistently demonstrate clear communication skills, strong anticipatory skills, and concentration to detail. [Required]
\n • Assembly of mechanical devices and knowledge of fundamental human anatomy. [Required]
\n • Must be able to work well with multiple team members. [Required]
\n • Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule and adapt to change. [Required]

Education:
\n • Associate [Preferred]
\n • High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
\n • Technical/Vocational School [Preferred]

Work Experience:
\n • 1+ years relevant experience [Preferred]
\n • 2+ years of technical experience in the field [Preferred]

Additional Information:
\n • Currently enrolled or successful completion of an approved/accredited school for Surgical Technology

Licenses and Certifications:
\n • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required] 
\n • State Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) [Required] OR NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) [Required] OR Technician in Surgery - Certified (NTSC) [Required]
