Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery Recovery Postpartum position requiring C-section circulation skills and Epic EMR experience.

Details\n

\n
• Work in a 6-bed Labor & Delivery unit with one C-section OR in a hospital setting
\n
• Unit averages 100 deliveries monthly, collaborating with both OBGYNs and midwives
\n
• Manage laboring patients, circulate and assist in C-sections, and recover both labor and surgical patients
\n
• Uses Epic EMR system
\n
• Night shift, 7:00pm to 7:00am
\n
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
\n
• Every other holiday (EOH) required
\n
• No on-call responsibilities
\n
• 48 hours per week schedule highly preferred, though 36-hour contracts will be considered
\n
• 12-hour shifts, 4 days per week
\n

Requirements\n

\n
• Active RN license (Standard or Compact) in North Carolina
\n
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NRP
\n
• Minimum of one year of nursing experience required
\n
• 5 years of L&D experience highly preferred
\n
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN required; BSN or MSN preferred
\n
• Epic EMR experience required
\n
• Must be able to circulate for C-sections
\n
• Must be able to triage for OB patients
\n
• Point of care testing experience required
\n

• Provide competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards under the direction of the Nurse Manager/Director
\n
• Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting
\n
• Perform bedside point of care testing as required for the patient care plan
\n
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to evaluate and plan patient care
\n
• Assess and address physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs of patients and families
\n
• Participate in unit goals and performance improvement activities
\n
