If turning drawings into solid steel structures is your craft, you’ll feel at home here. As a Structural Fabrication Blueprint Fitter, you’ll own layout and fit-up from the first mark to final weld readiness.

What you’ll tackle

• Read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and shop sketches.
• Layout, position, and assemble structural steel to meet project specs.
• Confirm dimensions, alignment, squareness, and fit-up ahead of welding.
• Apply measuring and layout tools to hold tight tolerances and quality.
• Prepare material using grinders, oxy-fuel torches, and standard shop equipment.
• Coordinate with welders to ensure proper assembly and weld preparation.
• Use overhead cranes and forklifts to move materials and large assemblies safely.
• Diagnose and resolve fit-up challenges while staying on schedule.
• Maintain high-quality workmanship from start to finish.
• Assist with other fabrication shop duties as needed.

Bring these strengths

• Preferred: 3+ years in structural fitting.
• Fluency in reading prints, details, and shop drawings.
• Accuracy with tapes, squares, levels, and precision layout gear.
• Certified-level safety habits with cranes and forklifts.
• Hands-on skill with grinders, oxy-fuel cutting, and common fab tools.
• Solid mechanical sense and knowledge of fabrication practices.
• Meticulous eye for detail and quality.
• Self-directed, yet collaborative in a team-oriented shop.
• Problem-solver who keeps pace in a fast-moving environment.
