Yard Lead / Forklift Operator

Outdoor Living Supply is hiring a Yard Lead / Yard Associate III to help lead daily operations in our landscape supply yard and warehouse. In this hands-on role, you’ll support and train Yard Associates, operate forklifts and loaders, load and unload materials, assist customers, and help keep the yard safe, organized, and running efficiently.

What You’ll Do

• Help lead day-to-day yard operations, driving team performance, efficiency, quality, and safety.
• Train and support less experienced Yard Associates.
• Operate forklifts, loaders, and other heavy equipment to move materials and load products for customers.
• Load and unload delivery trucks and assist customers with loading purchases.
• Keep the warehouse and landscape supply yard clean, organized, and ready for business.
• Ensure materials are properly identified, packaged, labeled, and meet established standards.
• Organize, plan, and prioritize daily work to keep operations moving efficiently.
• Maintain tools, equipment, supplies, and work areas.
• Troubleshoot equipment and processing issues and make minor machinery adjustments as needed.
• Complete required end-of-shift documentation.
• Assist customers and answer questions throughout the day.
• Follow company safety, security, and operating procedures.
• Take a proactive, resourceful approach to solving problems.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Forklift certification required.
• Heavy equipment experience preferred.
• Basic math skills and familiarity with inventory procedures.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in English.
• Bilingual Spanish skills strongly preferred.
• Point-of-Sale experience is a plus.
• Basic computer knowledge is a plus.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

What to Expect

This is a full-time position averaging 40 hours per week. Hours may fluctuate seasonally, with weekend work and occasional overtime required based on business needs.

This is a physically active role primarily performed outdoors in a landscape supply yard and warehouse environment. You must be able to:

• Routinely lift 25–75 lbs. without assistance.
• Stand and walk continuously throughout the workday.
• Frequently bend and stoop.
• Periodically operate a powered industrial truck or other heavy equipment.
• Work in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and wind.
• Work around uneven terrain, dust, noise, and operating machinery.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
