Production Equipment Technician

Location: Avon, CT

Compensation: $20.00–$26.00 per hour, with overtime opportunities

Shifts:

  • 1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
  • 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
A day in the life

As production begins, you arrive at a clean, organized workstation. You verify work instructions, set up the machine for the run, and load raw materials. As the equipment hums, you watch critical indicators, make precise adjustments, and complete in-process checks so finished parts meet specifications. You record production and quality data accurately, flag any variation, and loop in maintenance if you spot a potential issue. Before the shift closes, you perform changeovers, tidy the area, and confirm the next order is ready to go. Throughout the day, you collaborate with production, quality, and maintenance teammates to safely hit output goals.

What you’ll handle
  • Operate and monitor manufacturing equipment following established procedures and safety policies.
  • Set up machines, make adjustments, and complete changeovers as required.
  • Inspect finished goods to verify they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Load raw materials; remove and stage finished materials from production equipment.
  • Accurately complete production and quality documentation.
  • Identify equipment concerns and communicate maintenance needs promptly.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.
  • Partner with production, quality, and maintenance teams to achieve production targets.
What you bring
  • Previous machine operation or manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues.
  • Comfort reading work instructions and completing production paperwork accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail and dedication to producing quality products.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Reliable attendance; able to work independently and in a team setting.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
Preferred skills
  • Experience with automated or semi-automated production equipment.
  • Knowledge of quality inspection methods and measuring tools.
  • Forklift experience is a plus.
  • Background in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
