Die-Cut Press Operator -- Folding Carton Packaging

When your shift starts, you review the job ticket, select tooling, and bring a die-cutting press to life. You dial in settings, verify stock, and run test sheets until every cut is crisp and every score is clean. As production ramps up, you keep a close eye on quality and throughput, coordinating with the printing team so jobs move smoothly from press to finishing and out the door on time. Between runs, you perform light maintenance, clear scrap, and keep the area spotless and safe. When a new teammate shadows you, you walk them through setup tips and troubleshooting, sharing what you’ve learned on the floor.

• Configure and run die-cutting equipment across multiple packaging jobs.
• Watch the line and process controls to ensure specs and quality targets are consistently met.
• Complete routine preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting to keep machines production-ready.
• Partner closely with the print/press crew to maintain a seamless workflow and on-time delivery.
• Audit finished pieces for accuracy, fit, and finish; fine-tune settings as needed.
• Keep the work cell clean, organized, and compliant with all safety procedures.
• Support onboarding by helping train new team members on equipment and processes.

• High school diploma or GED; vocational or technical training in print/packaging is a plus.
• Hands-on experience operating die cutters or similar finishing equipment in the printing industry.
• Solid knowledge of die-cutting methods, tooling, and machinery.
• Exceptional attention to detail and pride in delivering high-caliber work.
• Comfort working independently and collaborating within a fast-moving team environment.
• Mechanical aptitude with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Clear communicator with a positive, can-do attitude.
