Position Description: Position: Transportation Dispatcher

Schedule: Full Time, Monday through Friday, 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM
Pay: Starting at $18 - $20 per hour, based on experience

Essential Responsibilities
- Communicate with drivers throughout the day, providing delivery instructions, customer information, and operational support.
- Monitor and update the Descartes routing system to ensure deliveries remain on schedule and driver information is accurate and current.
- Answer incoming calls regarding delivery status, routing, and customer concerns.
- Provide timely updates to management, the sales team, and inside sales regarding delivery delays, customer issues, and route changes.
- Maintain accurate dispatch records and documentation.
- Coordinate with drivers and internal departments to resolve delivery issues quickly and professionally.
- Support daily transportation operations to ensure exceptional customer service.

Position Summary
In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating with drivers throughout the day, monitoring delivery progress, responding to customer inquiries, and ensuring accurate communication between our transportation, sales, and customer service teams. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast paced environment, has excellent communication skills, and is able to prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy.
Qualifications
- Previous dispatch, transportation, logistics, customer service, or operations experience preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn transportation and routing software.
- Experience with Descartes or similar dispatch software is a plus.
