Our client, a leading organization within the property and casualty insurance industry, is seeking a Print Production Consultant to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of high-quality print production projects. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with expertise in print manufacturing, vendor management, cost analysis, and project coordination. The successful candidate will manage multiple production initiatives simultaneously while ensuring quality standards, budget requirements, and critical deadlines are consistently met.
This hybrid opportunity offers the chance to work closely with internal stakeholders and external production partners to support the creation and distribution of marketing materials, publications, and other printed communications for a well-established and highly regulated industry leader. Job Description
The Print Production Consultant is responsible for managing the full print production lifecycle, from project planning and vendor selection through final delivery. This role serves as a key liaison between stakeholders and production vendors, ensuring all projects are completed accurately, efficiently, and within budget.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage print production projects from concept through final delivery.
  • Develop project timelines and ensure adherence to critical production schedules.
  • Solicit competitive bids, evaluate vendor proposals, and negotiate pricing and production agreements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with print vendors to ensure cost-effective, high-quality production outcomes.
  • Manage project documentation, production records, and archival processes.
  • Conduct cost analyses, prepare estimates, and track actual costs against approved budgets.
  • Collaborate with vendors to develop specifications for printed materials, packaging, fulfillment, and distribution solutions.
  • Review and approve mock-ups, prototypes, and printer proofs to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Monitor supply chain and production challenges, communicating risks and coordinating resolution strategies with stakeholders.
  • Research emerging printing technologies, production techniques, and vendor capabilities to support continuous process improvement.
  • Ensure all print production projects comply with applicable postal regulations and organizational requirements when necessary.
  • Oversee document storage and physical records retention processes in accordance with established policies.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance production procedures and operational best practices.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects while adjusting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • In lieu of a bachelor's degree, a high school diploma or equivalent and at least five (5) years of experience in a marketing, agency, publishing, commercial printing, project management, or supply chain management environment may be considered.
  • Experience managing print production projects from planning through final delivery.
  • Knowledge of commercial printing processes, including four-color print production.
  • Understanding of paper types, printing techniques, and production specifications.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships, obtaining competitive bids, and negotiating pricing.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Experience developing budgets, preparing estimates, and analyzing production costs.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and computer skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to solve complex problems and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • Ability to effectively communicate project status, risks, and production updates to stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting print production within highly regulated industries such as insurance, financial services, healthcare, or professional services.
  • Experience coordinating packaging, fulfillment, and postal solutions.
  • Familiarity with postal regulations and mail distribution requirements.
  • Experience implementing process improvements and documenting operational procedures.
  • Knowledge of emerging print production technologies and industry best practices.
  • Background managing commercial printing vendor networks and large-scale print campaigns.
