Job Summary:
The EHS Technician functions as an advanced individual contributor within the environmental, health, and safety function. The role emphasizes independent judgment, ownership of high‐risk or enterprise‐level EHS activities, cross‐functional influence, and leadership in EHS best practices rather than routine inspections or transactional support.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and support EHS programs and initiatives.
- Conduct workplace hazard assessments and recommend corrective actions.
- Lead investigations of incidents, near misses, and safety events.
- Perform root-cause analysis and track corrective actions.
- Support OSHA and other regulatory compliance requirements.
- Prepare and maintain EHS documentation, records, permits, and reports.
- Assist with internal, customer, and regulatory audits.
- Support environmental programs, including waste handling, spill prevention, and emissions compliance.
- Coordinate industrial hygiene monitoring and employee exposure assessments.
- Develop and deliver safety training and awareness programs.
- Provide guidance on safe work practices and EHS requirements.
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and HR to improve workplace safety.
- Assist with developing EHS procedures, policies, and best practices.
- Promote a strong safety culture throughout the facility
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate or bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field preferred.
- 1–3 years of EHS, safety, environmental, or industrial experience.
- Experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, distribution, or other regulated environment preferred.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety practices.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work effectively with employees and leadership across multiple departments.
