Warehouse Operator / Forklift Driver

Job Overview

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a dependable, safety-focused Warehouse Operator / Forklift Driver to support warehouse, inventory, shipping, receiving, and production operations. This role is responsible for safely operating forklifts, moving materials throughout the facility, maintaining inventory accuracy, and assisting with general warehouse functions to ensure efficient workflow and production support. The ideal candidate will have previous forklift experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing or warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a sit-down forklift to transport raw materials, finished products, and supplies throughout the facility.
• Load, unload, move, stack, and stage materials in designated warehouse locations.
• Receive, inspect, and store incoming materials and products.
• Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders and shipments accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain accurate inventory transactions using computerized inventory and production systems.
• Perform cycle counts and assist with inventory control activities.
• Supply production areas with materials as needed to support operational requirements.
• Assist with material handling, packaging, labeling, and other warehouse-related tasks.
• Verify shipping and receiving documentation for accuracy.
• Perform routine forklift and equipment inspections and report maintenance concerns.
• Maintain organized warehouse storage areas and ensure proper material identification.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, quality standards, and operating guidelines.
• Assist in other warehouse, shipping, receiving, or production areas as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous forklift operating experience required; forklift certification is a plus.
• Experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or warehouse environment preferred.
• Shipping, receiving, inventory control, and order-picking experience preferred.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions, shipping documents, and safety procedures.
• Basic computer skills and inventory system knowledge.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workload effectively.
• Excellent attendance, reliability, and work ethic.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical warehouse duties throughout the shift.

Physical Requirements

• Forklift operation: Approximately 60-70% of the workday.
• Standing and walking: Approximately 25-35% of the workday.
• Climbing ladders or accessing elevated storage areas as needed.
• Frequent bending, lifting, reaching, pushing, pulling, and carrying materials.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse or manufacturing environment.
