Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electro-Mechanical Technician (EMT) to join our Maintenance team in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving automated production and packaging equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations.
The ideal candidate will have strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills, experience working with high-speed automated equipment, and a proactive approach to preventive maintenance and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, install, modify, troubleshoot, repair, overhaul, rebuild, and dismantle complex manufacturing and support equipment.
- Troubleshoot control systems, servo drives, and motors on high-speed packaging lines.
- Perform preventive maintenance and proactive equipment inspections to maximize reliability and uptime.
- Troubleshoot and repair:
- Pneumatic control systems
- Mechanical drive systems
- Allen-Bradley PLC systems
- RSLinx software
- Process control instrumentation
- Three-phase (480V) electrical systems
- Motor starters and motor control circuits
- Coordinate maintenance activities with production, engineering, management, and fellow maintenance technicians.
- Support production goals through technical expertise, training, and coaching of operators and maintenance personnel.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Comply with all applicable safety, food safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements, including OSHA, FDA, and EPA standards.
- Identify opportunities for equipment reliability, maintenance, and process improvements, and help implement solutions.
- Assist with maintenance projects and other duties as assigned by leadership.
QualificationsEducation & Experience
- Associate degree, Bachelor's degree, technical certification, or equivalent electro-mechanical experience in an automated manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with automated manufacturing or packaging equipment.
- Experience troubleshooting high-speed automation and packaging systems preferred.
- At least 1 year of experience troubleshooting and repairing:
- Pneumatic control systems
- Allen-Bradley PLC systems
- RSLinx software
- Process control instrumentation
- Three-phase (480V) electrical systems
- Motor starters and controls
- Electronic circuit boards
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and automation systems.
- Proficiency with Allen-Bradley software and PLC troubleshooting.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications and related software.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, schematics, and maintenance procedures.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a routine basis.
- Extensive walking throughout a 400,000-square-foot manufacturing facility.
- Ability to work in a production environment and around manufacturing equipment.
