Description
American Traveler is hiring a Hand Occupational Therapist for an outpatient rehabilitation setting, requiring 2+ years of experience and CHT preferred.
Details
- Outpatient clinic and acute care setting focused on hand and upper extremity therapy
- Orthopedic patient population including post-op shoulder repair, elbow injuries, and frozen shoulder
- Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- 1:1 patient ratio
- No floating to hospital units or affiliate facilities required
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Occupational Therapy experience preferred
- Current BLS certification required
- Lymphedema and Manual Therapy certifications preferred
- CHT (Certified Hand Therapist) preferred
- License required if applicable
- Must reside within 75 miles of the facility
- Two professional references required at time of consideration
- Experience with hand and orthopedic conditions including tendinopathy, DDD, DJD, and osteoarthritis
- Skilled in AROM/AAROM/PROM, strength testing, and pain assessment
- Experience with therapeutic modalities such as E-stim, TENS, and Ultrasound preferred
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive outpatient occupational therapy services with a focus on hand and orthopedic rehabilitation
- Perform assessments, evaluations, and develop individualized plans of care including short and long-term goals
- Utilize equipment such as gait belts, shoulder slings, and wheelchair assessments as needed
- Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, safety, and injury prevention
- Zero tolerance policy for marijuana use, including THC testing positive resulting in contract cancellation
- Return travelers accepted if at least 6 months have passed since their last assignment at this facility
- Local candidates not accepted for this position
- First-time travelers may be considered if they have relevant prior experience elsewhere
