Schedule: Part-Time | Day Shift
High Point Residence Wood River is seeking a dependable, motivated, and hands-on Part-Time Maintenance Technician to join our team. This is a great entry-level opportunity for someone with basic maintenance skills who enjoys working with their hands and takes pride in keeping a building safe, clean, and well maintained.
The Maintenance Technician will assist with the day-to-day upkeep of the community, including minor repairs, drywall and painting projects, floor care, apartment turnovers, grounds maintenance, and general building upkeep.
Key ResponsibilitiesPerform routine maintenance and minor repairs throughout the community
Complete drywall repairs, patching, painting, and touch-up work
Assist with basic plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry-related maintenance
Support preventative maintenance and routine building inspections
Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of floors, common areas, and exterior grounds
Assist with garbage removal and proper waste disposal
Respond promptly to maintenance requests from residents and team members
Assist with apartment turnovers and prepare residences for new move-ins
Maintain maintenance records and document completed repairs as needed
Help ensure the community remains safe, clean, functional, and welcoming
Follow all community safety procedures and maintenance standards
Assist with additional maintenance projects as assigned
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Basic knowledge of general building maintenance and repair
Experience with drywall repair and painting
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Dependable, organized, and able to manage assigned tasks independently
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
Previous maintenance, handyman, construction, or facilities experience
Experience in senior living, healthcare, hospitality, apartment maintenance, or residential settings
Experience with floor care and basic maintenance equipment
General knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or carpentry work
