Job Description
The General Laborer will support a new assembly facility by carefully wrapping and packaging painted parts and cabs to protect them during transport between multiple plant locations. This role is critical to reducing damage, minimizing costly paint rework, and maintaining efficient production flow. You will help establish and refine packaging processes and standards, so you must be adaptable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Wrap painted parts and cabs in appropriate packaging materials to protect them during transport between facilities.
- Handle, lift, and move parts and materials consistently, including items up to 35 pounds.
- Follow established packaging and production procedures to minimize damage and reduce paint rework.
- Assist in creating, improving, and standardizing packaging processes as the new assembly operation is fine-tuned.
- Load and prepare parts and materials for shipment or movement to other plants.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in a manufacturing environment.
- Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors using strong written and verbal skills.
- Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality to support consistent production flow.
- Adapt to process changes and respond positively to feedback to improve quality and efficiency.
- Meet production and packaging targets while maintaining quality standards.
Essential Skills
- Experience performing general labor tasks in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Proven ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 35 pounds on a consistent basis.
- Hands-on experience with packing, packaging, and loading materials or products.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to follow instructions and document work as needed.
- Reliable work history with an excellent attendance record.
- Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
- Comfort with repetitive tasks that require attention to detail and care in handling parts.

Work Environment
This position is based in a manufacturing and production setting at facilities such as IPP (Mayflower) or ASY (American Drive, visible from Highway 41). The work involves standing, lifting, and moving parts throughout the shift while working around assembly and packaging equipment. Shifts are structured as follows: first shift runs from 4:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday; second shift runs from 2:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight, Monday through Thursday; and weekend shift runs from 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Friday through Sunday. Weekend shift employees work 36 hours and are paid for 36 hours, with additional shift premiums available for second and weekend shifts. The environment is focused on safety, quality, and efficient production flow, and requires appropriate work attire suitable for a manufacturing facility.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
