SAP Order Management Specialist

Location: Houston, TX 77056 (Hybrid)
Schedule: 3 Days Onsite / 2 Days Remote
Duration: 6-Month Contract with Strong Potential for Extension and Permanent Conversion in Jan 2027

Pay Rate: $30.00 - $35.00/hour, depending on experience

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a manufacturing organization seeking an experienced SAP Order Management Specialist to join its Supply Chain team. This role is responsible for managing customer orders from receipt through shipment, maintaining strong customer relationships, coordinating with logistics and operations teams, and ensuring exceptional service throughout the order-to-cash process.

The ideal candidate will bring strong SAP order processing experience, a customer-first mindset, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process, enter, and maintain customer orders within SAP.
  • Manage customer purchase orders from receipt through shipment and invoicing.
  • Create and maintain sales orders, deliveries, and shipping documentation.
  • Process various order types including standard orders, stock transfers, consignment orders, and free-of-charge orders.
  • Coordinate transportation and provide Bills of Lading (BOLs) and required shipping documents.
  • Verify pricing and support approval workflows.
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding inventory availability, order status, production schedules, products, and policies.
  • Expedite urgent and special orders while ensuring customer expectations are met.
  • Research and resolve customer issues, deductions, short payments, returns, and credit disputes.
  • Manage backorders and communicate shipment delays or schedule changes proactively.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and supporting documentation.
  • Partner closely with sales, manufacturing, warehousing, logistics, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless order execution.
  • Support inventory coordination activities and maintain strong relationships with warehouse and terminal partners.
  • Ensure exceptional customer satisfaction through timely issue resolution and follow-up.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of customer service, order management, customer operations, or supply chain support experience.
  • Strong experience processing customer orders in ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
  • Conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Experience supporting customers in a fast-paced, transactional environment.
