Job Title: Material HandlerJob Description

The Material Handler plays a key role in supporting production and warehouse operations by accurately managing materials, inventory, and shipments. This position is responsible for pulling and staging production kits, processing inventory transactions in the ERP/MRP system, receiving and shipping goods, and maintaining precise inventory records to ensure a smooth and efficient manufacturing process.

Responsibilities
  • Pull, stage, and issue production kits based on work orders and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Verify material quantities and part numbers before releasing kits to production to ensure accuracy.
  • Process inventory and work order transactions in the MRP/ERP system in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Monitor kit availability, identify material shortages, and take proactive steps to address them.
  • Communicate material shortages to Purchasing and Planning teams and replenish kits when materials are received.
  • Perform scheduled and cycle count inventory audits and enter results into the MRP/ERP system.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies, determine root causes, and escalate variances as required.
  • Receive completed assemblies and sub-assemblies from production and verify quantities against work orders.
  • Process production receipts, close work orders, and route completed products to inspection or inventory storage.
  • Receive incoming vendor shipments and verify quantities, part numbers, and revisions against purchase orders.
  • Inspect incoming shipments for damage and process purchase order receipts in the MRP/ERP system.
  • Pick, pack, and prepare finished goods and spare parts for shipment according to customer and company requirements.
  • Generate shipping documentation, labels, packing slips, and compliance paperwork for outgoing shipments.
  • Process shipping transactions and maintain accurate finished goods inventory records.
  • Perform real-time material movement transactions and maintain accurate inventory locations within the system.
  • Update bin locations and inventory records to ensure system accuracy and traceability of materials.
  • Report inventory, transaction, or system discrepancies to management promptly for resolution.
  • Take order sheets and pick work orders with a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.
Essential Skills
  • 1+ years of experience using ERP/MRP systems to process inventory and work order transactions.
  • Strong inventory handling, order picking, and material handling skills.
  • Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours during the shift.
  • Ability to lift and move materials weighing 30–50 lbs safely and consistently.
  • Basic computer skills, including the ability to utilize email and navigate ERP/MRP software.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy when verifying quantities, part numbers, and documentation.
  • Ability to perform counting tasks and pick work orders with urgency and precision.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Electronics or ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) handling experience.
  • Experience with shipping processes, including preparing documentation and packaging.
  • Experience performing cycle counts and inventory audits.
  • Ability to work effectively in a small team environment and build positive working relationships.

Work Environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.00/hr.
