Maintenance Technician – 1st Shift, Direct Hire (Columbia City, IN)

Position Overview

The maintenance technician ensures optimal operation of plant machinery, mechanical and electrical equipment, and associated functions. This company has a diverse set of machines to be involved with material handling, agricultural, power generation, and defense industries. The role is full-time and provides full-time health / vision / dental benefits, PTO, etc. This role reports to the maintenance supervisor.

Work environment is within a 289,000 sq. ft. facility and is climate controlled!

Shifts Available:

• 1st Shift, 10 – 12 hr shifts (45 hrs/wk.)
• 2nd Shift, 10 – 12 hr shifts (45 hrs/wk.)
  

Starting Pay Range:

• $24 - $28/hr. + shift differential
  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting on manufacturing equipment/machinery
  
• Performing maintenance on motors, pneumatic tools, CNC machines, and other production machines
  
• Performing emergency repairs
  
• Process requests through internal work order program
  

Required Skills and Abilities

• Willing and able to work past scheduled hours when necessary
• Must have good math, reading, and writing skills
• Good problem solving and root cause skill
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to articulate and comprehend complex environments
• Works well alone and in a team environment
  

Education and Experience

• 3+ years' experience with industrial maintenance & machine troubleshooting
• 1 year experience using Lean Manufacturing Tools
• Experience with mechanical, pneumatic, electric, and electronics maintenance
• Knowledge and experience with forklifts; willing and able to receive forklift certification
• Valid Driver's License
• High School Diploma or equivalent
  

Nice to Have

• 1 - 3 years of CNC machine troubleshooting experience
