Shift:AM Shift (Hours to be determined based on production schedule)Position Summary:The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing food manufacturing and packaging equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable production operations. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, experience in the food manufacturing industry, and a commitment to food safety and preventive maintenance.Key Responsibilities:Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment failuresRepair and replace defective components using hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipmentPerform preventive maintenance on food processing and packaging equipment according to production schedulesComplete facility maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical repairs, wall patching, and general building maintenanceRead and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and equipment documentation to perform accurate repairsMaintain accurate maintenance records, including work orders, parts inventory, and service logsEnsure compliance with all safety procedures, GMP, food safety regulations, and company policiesCollaborate with Production teams to minimize downtime and maximize equipment performanceMonitor equipment reliability and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and reduce breakdownsMaintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance shop and work areaRespond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance requests as neededJob Requirements:Previous Maintenance Mechanic experience in a food manufacturing or food processing environment requiredStrong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skillsExperience performing preventive maintenance on industrial production and packaging equipmentKnowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, and general facility maintenanceAbility to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and maintenance documentationKnowledge of GMP, food safety standards, and OSHA regulationsStrong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skillsAbility to work independently and in a fast-paced production environmentWillingness to work flexible schedules or different shifts based on production needs
