Maintenance Technician

Position Summary: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the overall maintenance, repair, and upkeep of facilities and grounds at Kids In Distress. This role ensures a safe, clean, and fully operational environment for staff, children, and visitors by performing routine maintenance, addressing repair needs, and supporting preventative maintenance efforts.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Perform general maintenance and repairs on buildings, equipment, and systemsDiagnose and repair HVAC systems and componentsComplete light electrical work including fixtures, outlets, and minor wiring repairsPerform plumbing repairs such as fixing leaks, clearing clogs, and replacing fixturesMaintain grounds through weed trimming and leaf removalConduct pressure washing of buildings, sidewalks, and outdoor areasExecute preventative maintenance tasks and maintain service schedulesRespond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency situationsMaintain tools, equipment, and accurate maintenance recordsEnsure compliance with safety standards, policies, and proceduresQualifications:High school diploma or equivalent requiredMinimum 2 years of maintenance or facilities experience preferredWorking knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systemsAbility to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues efficientlyStrong organizational and time management skillsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionValid driver's license requiredPhysical Requirements:Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 poundsAbility to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and perform physical laborAbility to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditionsWork Environment: This position involves both indoor and outdoor work and may require exposure to heat, humidity, noise, and mechanical equipment.Notice to ApplicantsThis position requires background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.
