Job Description

The Plant Scheduler is responsible for monitoring inventories, tracking the progress of production, and allocating unfinished tube to customer orders. This position is cross-functional in order to facilitate smooth operations within the Planning Department.

Your Role at a Glance- Pre/Direct allocation of unfinished tube and aged inventory, claim returns, rejects and downgraded material in the most cost-efficient manner.
- Set-up of routing steps per order in a legacy computer system.
- Plan and establish production schedules for plant operations to balance customer requirements with inventory control policies, monitor material inventories, track progress of production, and review factors, which affect production schedules.
- Track, analyze & prepare reports on aged inventory for PRI meetings.
- Continuously review the movement of materials and other supply chain processes to identify sources of problems and to develop suggestions for solutions.
- Understanding of product specifications and their effect on allocation of material.
- Analyze, track and report customer on time delivery information.
- Monitor customer orders for shortages during the production process; communicate short orders to sales for disposition.
- Monitor and manage available inventory, allocate to customer orders, monitor for overages during the production process, communicate overages to sales to minimize PRI, meet PRI objectives.
- Analyze short term constraints establishing recommendations for resolution. Work cross functionally to execute agreed solution.
- Maintain data quality and integrity within the scheduling tools.
- Strong collaboration with Inventory Control, Upstream Supply Planning, Operations, Sales, and Management to meet business goals.
- Special projects, as needed.
We’re looking for individuals who bring the right mix of experience, mindset, and motivation:
- Associate’s degree in business, Supply Chain or related discipline preferred
- 3+ years of experience working in a fast-paced, manufacturing setting
- Strong communicator with excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong analytical and reasoning skills
- SAP and APS (Advanced Planning & Scheduling) Systems, a plus
