As an Electronics/Harness Technician II, you support the assembly, testing, and production of electro‑mechanical components that are essential to delivering high‑performance space systems. This hands‑on role focuses on wire harness fabrication, electrical assembly, and mechanical build‑up while ensuring accuracy through careful documentation and troubleshooting. Your work directly contributes to producing reliable, flight‑ready hardware by following engineering specifications, solving assembly challenges, and maintaining a safe and organized workspace.

Responsibilities

  • Performs wire harness fabrication including splicing, crimping, Molex connector installation, and soldering across various cable types.
  • Carries out potting and encapsulation processes for connectors and electronics.
  • Reads and follows engineering drawings, bills of materials, procedures, and work instructions to complete assembly tasks.
  • Troubleshoots assembly issues with limited supervision to maintain production efficiency.
  • Assembles and tests mechanical systems using standard test equipment.
  • Uses basic hand tools and power tools to support electro‑mechanical assembly work.
  • Maintains a safe work environment and reports potentially unsafe conditions.
  • Supports production activities through accurate documentation and adherence to established processes.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with basic hand tools, power tools, and mechanical assembly practices.
  • Two to five years of experience in a technical or assembly environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering documentation and assembly instructions.
  • Ability to perform moderate, repetitive physical work, including standing for extended periods and occasional heavy lifting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with Military or U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) programs.
  • Soldering experience to J‑STD‑001 standards.
  • Familiarity with oscilloscopes, multimeters, frequency generators, or similar test equipment.
  • Experience in research and development environments.

Physical Requirements

  • Moderate physical and repetitive work.
  • Standing for extended periods.
  • Use of stairs.
  • Occasional heavy lifting.
