Summary Responsible for working with the maintenance team to install, repair and replace equipment and facilities.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerforms preventative and/or routine maintenance on equipment and facilitiesTrouble shoots and diagnoses problems, equipment issues, and executes repairsUses vendor technical support when requiredWorks with manufacturing and engineering staff to problem solve and assure repairs are completed correctlyMakes suggestions, works on teams, and helps to implement improvementsUses a process for work and is involved in continuous improvement efforts Ensures new equipment is operating properly, including utility hook upsMaintains building systems including: compressed air, water, sewer, and electricalAble to arm and secure building (open and disarm), trains users of the security system when requiredUnderstands all equipment, building and grounds maintenance within ability levelObserves safety and security procedures relating to purchases, storage, and disposal of materials and equipmentFollows all policies and procedures regarding safety and environmental issuesAdheres to BORIDE Core Values and Quality PoliciesRegular and consistent attendance is an essential responsibility of every job at BORIDEOther duties may be assigned and job duties may change according to work load or seasonCompetencies Basic machine controls knowledge - programming and wiringAbility to read and/or understand machine manuals, wiring diagrams, blue prints and schematicsBasic computer navigation ability - email, internet, applications, etc.General knowledge of maintenance practices, electrical, plumbing and weldingMechanical aptitude and strong math skillsAbility to operate measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, etcAbility to operate welding equipment, forklift, drill press, milling machines, and other maintenance equipment Organized, works within a process, excellent problem-solving skillsAbility to collaborate and work in a team environmentQualifications Education and/or ExperienceHigh school diploma; 2 years of related experience and/or trainingOne to two (1 - 2) years of on the job trainingExperience with repair of hydraulics, welding, and fabrication desiredPhysical Demands Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Regularly required to stand; walkUse hands to finger, handle, or feelReach with hands and arms Talk and hearFrequently required to climb, balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawlRegularly lift and /or move up to 50 poundsUse of close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focusRegularly exposed to moving mechanical parts
