Maintenance Technician C

REPORTS TO: Maintenance Manager DESCRIPTION: Employees at this level are expected to perform minor repairs and improvements in a variety of trades under the direction of a group leader or supervisor. RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform general maintenance duties on building and machinesBe able to perform preventative maintenance on the machinesPerforms minor electrical work not requiring a licensed electrician such as replacing light bulbs and fusesAssists in minor carpentry and repair workMaintain machinery, equipment, and tools by cleaning, lubricating, greasing, and or oiling to ensure optimum working orderApplies paint, varnish, and stain to all types of surfaces in order to protect and beautify surfaces using appropriate tools and equipmentPerforms related duties as requiredFollow plant specified job specification and task listMust know and follow all safety requirements, departmental and plant wideMaintain 5-S for assigned areas and equipmentMust be able to complete required departmental paperworkHave general knowledge of computer software and maintenance work order systemMust know LOTO (lock out tag out) procedureKnow the proper use of power, and hand toolsKnow how to use a volt Ohm meter Support the implementation, achievement, and maintenance of the Quality and Environmental PoliciesAuthorities for an employee are granted by means of work instructions, policies and procedures and/or direction provided by management to meet the requirements of the customerEducation:High School Graduate or GEDExperience:1-2 years on the job training verifiedSkills:Considerable knowledge of methods, materials, tools and practices used in electrical or mechanical areasAbility to interface and work from sketches and printsThis job description should not be construed to imply that these requirements are exclusive standards of the position.
