Job Summary:
The Plant Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the efficient operations of the market’s equipment and physical locations, performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to minimize downtime and enhance productivity.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and other issues in equipment and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
- Perform repairs or replacements of defective parts, components, and wiring, on all necessary equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and part replacements in appropriate systems.
- Work closely with operations teams to coordinate maintenance schedules and minimize disruptions to operations.
- Assist with premise installations, drop construction, and cable locates as assigned.
- Ensure safety protocols and equipment are well maintained and followed at each location.
- Market travel as needed.
- Other special projects as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of network devices and understanding of basic operation of network.
- Moderate understanding of premise network.
- Basic understanding of Highline products and services.
- Proficient in using manual and power tools. Comfortable with handling ladders, aerial lifts and excavation equipment.
- Ability to differentiate Highline network cables, make cable connections in tight spaces, and carry equipment over varied terrain.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma required or advanced degree.
- 1+ years of construction or maintenance of communications network experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors in various environments and weather conditions.
- Must be able to work at different heights, near power lines, construction sites or confined spaces.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment screenings (Drug and Background), as well as Random Selections.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.
- Ability to work or travel as needed for business continuity.
